🌌 What is a Lunar Eclipse?

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon, casting its shadow on the Moon. Unlike a solar eclipse, which can only be seen from limited regions, a lunar eclipse is visible from the entire night side of Earth.

There are three main types of lunar eclipses:

Penumbral Eclipse – when the Moon passes through Earth’s faint outer shadow.

Partial Eclipse – when part of the Moon is covered by the Earth’s umbra.

Total Eclipse – when the Moon is fully within Earth’s dark umbral shadow.

🌑 The Event of 7 September 2025

On 7 September 2025, a complete lunar eclipse will occur. During this celestial event, the Moon will enter Earth’s umbra completely, giving rise to a stunning “Blood Moon” effect. The Moon will appear reddish in color due to the scattering of sunlight through Earth’s atmosphere — the same reason why we see red sunsets.
